This issue explores FeLV in cats.
When pet owners discover their cat is FeLV+, they often get very worried. Some owners decide to abandon while others are even told to euthanise their FeLV cat.
There is always a chance of a false FeLV+!
We will share cases from our rescue and we will invite vets to share their profesional opinion.
Creating awareness and sharing information is the best approach for FeLV cats. This way, owners and adoptors can take necessary precaution while caring for FeLV+ cats.
It will mean the world for FeLV+ cats.

- What can you do for FeLV cats?
Our message is very simple. A well cared for FeLV+ cat can easily outlive a FeLV- but neglected cat.
About the Rahula FeLV Sanctuary
On 27 Sept 2014, we adopted Rahula for palliative care.
He was an abanodned FIV and FeLV+ cat and he was expected to die very fast.
We took him back and carefully attended to him. He gradually recovered and instead of an immediate death, he lived happily for 8 months before he passed away from cancer.
We have since adopted several FeLV cats and eventually established the Rahula FeLV Sanctuary.
Our hope
With this issue, we hope people have a better understanding of FeLV. While we continue to rescue FeLV cats, rescue work is NOT the solution. Shelters and snctuaries have finite resources and can never take in everyone's feLV cats.
Creating awareness and promoting acceptance is the answer!
